The first follow-up meeting of the European project LIFE AgRemSO3il coordinated by IMIDA took place on 28 February 2019 in Murcia. The meeting was attended by representatives of the partners participating in the project: NOVAGRIC (Novedades Agrícolas, S.A.), IDC (Idioconsortium, S.L.), and CEBAS-CSIC (Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas).

The meeting,took place at the Murcian Institute of Agrarian and Food Research and Development, and duscussed the state of development and progress of the project actions, July 1, 2018 and is in its initial phase.

About Life AgRemSO3il

Life AgRemSO3il is a pilot project that aims at developing and tuning at farm scale a new technology for the agrochemical remediation of farm soils by combining solarization and ozonation in situ.

The duration of the project is 4 years from July 2018 to 2022. During this time, a prototype will be tested in commercial farms on a real scale to demonstrate the technical, economic and ecological feasibility of the innovation, which in this case refers to the technological applications and methods used.

The project aims to provide a new cost-effective solution to support the functions of soil as part of a wider ecosystem and the impact on food and feed, with its consequent effects on human health, and proposes to enable the integration of environmental objectives into the Common Agricultural Policy, promoting the convergence of EU agricultural and environmental policies.
